The pundit wrote on the Daily Record website on Wednesday, March 13, that the unprintable chants directed at Hibs forward

Martin Boyle by Gers fans during the game at Easter Road were “sickening” and “terrible.”

Regarding possible penalties that might be levied on teams for the behaviour of their supporters,

Docking points, McManus responded, might be “the way forward,” although he

acknowledged that this course of action would cause “mayhem.”

“Hibs’ statement recognises the issue with their own backing,” McManus went on.

It’s about time other teams did the same. It seems like Sunday was the last straw.

The terrible comments directed against Martin Boyle by Rangers fans are not permitted to be conveyed in this medium. Sickening.

“Don’t think that this is just aimed at the Rangers. Every club has some sort of issue.

You can find it practically anyplace. Hibs don’t want to subject their players or supporters to

further suffering since they have already endured enough.

They want fans to have a comfortable experience when they go to games. Will cutting back on allocations have an impact?

Is it important how many individuals there are—1,500 or 3,500? Anxiety is growing as the chanting is still audible.

“It is unpleasant to hear the chanting, especially from the Old Firm, but how can it be stopped?

Is it time to start fining clubs? The top clubs won’t be much impacted by that unless there are severe sanctions.

“Or should we start docking team points and go all in? Maybe this is how we should go on.

and it will be up to the government to enforce it, just think of the fury. There would be mayhem.

The essential reality is that people must recognise when anything is out of order since this is a societal problem.

After the Rangers incident, foul chants have no place in football.

It is undoubtedly a problem in Scottish football, and given the circumstances, it will be challenging for the authorities to solve.

But some of the chanting is plain abhorrent and has no business being at a sporting event.

Even though they have deeper roots, some things shouldn’t be said and football shouldn’t be neglected.

Point deductions are extremely unlikely to occur since doing so would be unfair to the teams and the typical fan.

However, this is a problem that will not go away anytime soon.
