a former player for Tottenham and Leeds United,

has two years remaining on his current contract with the Academy of Light.

Burnley expressed interest in the 23-year-old player last summer,

while Lazio made two approaches for him in January of last year.

Southampton is reportedly eager to close a deal as well.

The attacker, who is valued at approximately £20 million and has contributed four assists and 15 goals to the Championship so far this season,

just made a full recovery from ankle ligament damage sustained against Birmingham City at the end of February.

Regarding Clarke, Pulis recently stated,

“There are certain things that you need to have in order to be successful on a football team.

” A player who can take on defenders is one of those things because defenses are so well-organized and you need someone to open doors and create space.

A player like that is Jack Clarke.

“I think he’s much stronger and more mature now that I watched him at Leeds United.

” Although I’m not sure if Sunderland will want to trade him to a Premier League team this summer,

he will have a very bright future. He’s a talented and dynamic player,

so I don’t see why he can’t play in the Premier League,” he said to OLBG.

Clarke was born in York, and his agent,

Ian Harte, formerly played left back for Leeds United and Sunderland,

recently disclosed that a new contract for the player does not appear to be in the works.

A contract clause was activated by the player, leading to the rejection of an initial offer.
