Newcastle United may have the opportunity to make Bruno Guimaraes’ international teammate one of their most costly acquisitions yet this summer.

The record presently belongs to Alexander Isak, Newcastle United’s record signing. He cost £63 million in 2022, a figure that has yet to be surpassed.

Twelve months later, Sandro Tonali arrived at St James’ Park for £55 million, becoming the Magpies‘ second most

expensive signing. That move has not gone as planned, as the midfielder is currently serving a 10-month ban after

being investigated for betting.

Newcastle United is already preparing for the summer transfer window of 2024, considering who will be their flagship signing.
