Rangers’ ambitions for the Scottish Premiership title are now in the hands of leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic, and the club may make some rash moves this summer, maybe causing one defender to go.

As things stand, the Gers will say goodbye to numerous players when their present contracts expire this summer,

with Leon Balogun, Borna Barisic, Jon McLaughlin, and Ryan Jack all due to leave Ibrox at the end of the season.

One player who may avoid that fate is John Lundstram, who is now negotiating a new contract just weeks before his current one expires.

Rangers will have room to improve after those departures, with Fabio Silva and Oscar Cortes already linked with

permanent moves, while Eduard Spertsyan is one of three players mentioned as a potential addition to Philippe

Clement’s frontline this summer. And, while attacking incomings may arrive at Ibrox this summer, they might be

paid by the sale of individuals unable to break into Clement’s present squad, like Ben Davies.
