seven-word reaction to the Bayern Munich links
Unai Emery has formally committed to Aston Villa despite speculation that he
could take over as manager of Bayern Munich.
Thomas Tuchel has declared that he will leave the Bavarian giants in the
summer after failing to win the Bundesliga, sparking speculation. Emery, who
is expected to guide Villa to a sensational fourth-place finish in the Premier
League and a probable UEFA Europa Conference League title, is one of the
names apparently mentioned.
Xabi Alonso was the key aim, but the Spaniard has declared that he will stay at
Bayer Leverkusen for another season after winning the German title for the
first time. Julian Nagelsmann, Roberto De Zerbi, and Zinedine Zidane have all
been suggested, with Emery’s name just added to the list.
However, the Villa manager seems unconcerned about the rumors and prefers
to focus his efforts on ending the season strong. “I am focused here [at Aston
Villa], one hundred percent,” Emery stated after his side defeated AFC
Bournemouth on Sunday, in response to a direct query regarding the Bayern
post.
Although without explicitly ruling out a future move to Munich, the head
coach stated that considering a move is not in his current interests.
