Tottenham is planning a move to sign rival Prem full-back, which might infuriate his club’s supporters.

Spurs made the most of the previous summer transfer window by acquiring players like Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson, and James Maddison.

The club moved up from eighth place in the previous season to fifth place at this point because to such acquisitions.

If they hadn’t suffered an injury problem following a brilliant start that saw them top the league after ten games, they would undoubtedly be higher up the standings.

It did not help matters that multiple injuries occurred at the same time.

However, there has clearly been an improvement from last season, and the signings have helped to facilitate that.

Ange Postecoglou clearly wanted to promote the development of Premier League players, with Maddison and Johnson showing they’re able to hit new heights in north London.

The same could be the case with a Tottenham signing this summer.

Indeed, according to HITC, they are one of the clubs in the mix for West Ham’s Ben Johnson.

According to the rumors, they are one of four Premier League teams interested in the full-back.

Aston Villa, Wolves, and Everton are in the mix with Leeds, a possible returner to the top division, with them.

Johnson has only appeared in 13 Premier League games this season, and he has declined to sign a new contract at the London Stadium, reportedly because he has not received guarantees on playing time.

It was previously reported that after he turned down several contract offers, West Ham had given up on trying to persuade him to stay.

Johnson is expected to be free agent this summer if nothing changes, and joining rival Spurs would be a “very unpopular move” among Hammers supporters.

It does not appear that giving up a highly promising 24-year-old player to a rival team would be a wise option.

Move to Tottenham is not assured

But there’s no assurance that Johnson will end up with the Spurs.

The defender may assume he won’t get the desired playing time that made him leave West Ham in the first place since Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are the obvious favorites at right and left back, respectively (Johnson can play either position). Emerson Royal and Ben Davies are next on the rung below them.

He might be interested in one of the other Premier League teams, but a European team could also be.

Johnson should have little trouble selecting the best move for him given the abundance of possibilities available to him. It is said that Johnson’s representatives have already spoken with teams in Italy, France, and Germany.
