“I would really like to return”: Former Rangers player hopes to reunite with old teammates at Ibrox

Filip Helander, a former Rangers defender, has acknowledged that he dreams of returning to Ibrox to watch a game with his old teammates.

Between 2019 and 2023, the Swedish center back played for four seasons at Ibrox before moving on a free transfer to Odense in the Danish Superligaen.

Helander only made 60 appearances in four seasons with the Scottish powerhouse, but he nevertheless looks forward to seeing his old

teammates again and taking in a spectacular campaign under Philippe Clement from the stands.

“I spent four good years at Rangers, especially my first two years where I got to play a lot, and then I didn’t get to play a lot last two seasons

because of injury,” he stated in an interview with GlasgowWorld on March 6.

“I wish I could have accomplished more in the past two years, but I hope these guys have the best of luck.” To be honest with them, I’ve always

been quite insecure about whether or not I’ll be physically fit. I don’t have any resentment.

All I can say is good luck to them, and I still feel proud of my time there. I try to encourage them as much as I can because we had a great time

together when we were able to win 55. One day, I hope to return there to watch a great game and perhaps run into some of the guys still there.

It is highly probable that Helander would receive a warm reception upon his return to Ibrox following a four-year tenure with the team.

Although the 30-year-old is still contributing to the team and has started 13 of Odense’s 20 league games thus far, it seems doubtful that he will play again for the Rangers, especially with Connor Goldson (31 years old) and Leon Balogun (35 years old) remaining in the lineup.

The narrative being constructed at Ibrox, which Clement has been handling since replacing Michael Beale in October, is circulating among football fans and has the potential to be a very thrilling conclusion to the season.
