Two more Celts named in Asian Cup squad
The Celtic team’s return to Scotland won’t occur until February 4 at the latest,
due to the group matches taking place from January 15 to 25. As a result,
they will miss the Scottish Cup encounter against Buckie Thistle at home and
the SPFL match against Ross County on January 27.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s team should have an easy time getting through Group E,
where South Korea is paired with Bahrain, Jordan, and Malaysia,
to advance to the competition’s elimination round.
The competition will see sixteen of the twenty-four competing nations advance to the knockout stage,
with the final scheduled for February 10.
Brendan Rodgers has fewer alternatives now that Oh and Yang are gone,
and updates regarding the Japan team are still pending.
