Prior to Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola makes a “ridiculous” admission about Man City
Prior to Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola makes a “ridiculous” admission about Man City.
Although Pep Guardiola acknowledged that his Manchester City team is having difficulties,
he still believes that his players will rise to the occasion before playing Aston Villa.
After a 3-3 draw with Tottenham on Sunday, City has lost their last three Premier League games.
On Wednesday (8:15 p.m.), they will visit B6. The current champions have led games against Spurs,
Chelsea, and Liverpool, but they have also given up eight goals.
They will be put to the test once more when they play Villa,
who have won 14 straight games at home.
Guardiola told Manchester Evening News, “Tottenham are happy for the point,
we are a little bit less happy but the performance is similar to what we have done lately.”
“People say we should be worried about the goals we give up,
but how many opportunities did we give up? It’s absurd.
We don’t give up goals, but due to our errors and the calibre of our opponents,
we do every time, and it gets harder from there.
The point is that there are a lot of games, despite this.
We’re in a situation where it has happened recently,
so let’s confront that. Good teams are not defined by positive events and circumstances;
we have experienced this before when we are playing well but the results are not showing up.
“Normally, we could find a solution, but recently,
we’ve been having some difficulties. We played well in the first season,
but we were unable to secure victories.
My only takeaway from my career as a manager and player is to never give up.
And then observe what transpires.”
