In January, Crystal Palace is currently trying to sign a 21-year-old
who has been compared to Kylian Mbappe.
Hugo Ekitike, a striker for Paris Saint-Germain who is currently out of favour,
is still a target for Crystal Palace, sources say.
The 21-year-old French attacker Hugo Ekitike appears to be planning a transfer away
from Parc Des Princes after a turbulent year at Paris Saint-Germain.
In the meantime, Crystal Palace is trying to add a midfielder and another forward to
their lineup to replace Cheick Doucoure,
who is sidelined for the entire season due to an Achilles injury.
As a result, it appears that the French forward
who was connected to a move to Selhurst Park last summer is among Palace’s decision-makers,
albeit interest from another London team is also evident.
To replace Cheick Doucoure, who will miss the full season due to an Achilles injury,
Crystal Palace is currently looking to add a midfielder and another forward to its roster.
The French forward, who was linked to a
summer transfer to Selhurst Park,
looks to be one of Palace’s decision-makers as a result, while interest from another London club is also apparent.
Ekitike signed his first professional deal with Reims on July 12, 2020. On October 17, 2020,
he made his senior squad debut in a Ligue 1 loss to Lorient, 3-1.
Ekitike signed a temporary loan deal with Danish Superliga team Vejle Boldklub on January 29, 2021,
for the duration of the campaign.
Ekitike, who entered the game as a substitute,
scored Reims’ second and third goals in a 3-1 victory over Nantes on September 26, 2021.
Ekitike turned down a possible deal to Newcastle United during the January 2022 transfer window.
Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot reaffirmed that “there is still a piece of history to write together”
while acknowledging that the team had received “very good offers” for Ekitike.
