‘bars’ their reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr. According to reports, David de Gea turned down the opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia with Cristiano Ronaldo,

his former Manchester United teammate. Since leaving Manchester United in the summer due to a stalemate in contract negotiations, De Gea, 33,

has been without a club.  After spending 12 years with the team, the Spaniard was free to leave Old Trafford at the conclusion of his contract.

Andre Onana, who has battled with consistency since signing from Inter Milan, took his spot as the team’s top player.  De Gea has been connected to other clubs and is still deciding on his future move.

Eldens, a Spanish second division team, and he are said to have had discussions, but no deal has been agreed. Al Hilal is said to be interested in the former Spain international, who has also been linked to a transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

According to The Sun, De Gea declined a substantial contract offer from Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s Saudi side.

The Saudi club reportedly offered him a deal for £500,000 per week, but he turned it down. According to rumours, he passed up the opportunity to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia since his wife Edurne Garcia Almagro is not keen on relocating there.

De Gea may, nonetheless, end up at Inter Miami with Ronaldo’s fiercest adversary, Lionel Messi.  The goalie does have some “appeal” to moving to the United States,

but the MLS team is reportedly interested in the Spaniard. Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, De Gea’s former teammates from Spain, are also signed to Inter Miami in addition to Messi.

Additionally, there have been rumours circulating that De Gea may unexpectedly return to United as Onana’s backup.

Onana is anticipated to represent Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2019.  The competition is scheduled to go from January 13 to February 11.

In addition to having Tom Heaton in their lineup, United paid £4.3 million to acquire Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce over the summer. However, Erik ten Hag,

the manager could try to sign De Gea again to cover for him temporarily.
