Gary O’Neil, the “perfect” Wolves player,  It will be whenever Wolves first line up

without the 33-year-old in the starting XI.

Dawson has been a staple pick for O’Neil this season and,

after somewhat of an unstable beginning this term, has been a stone close by Max Kilman.

Yet, we will presently see exactly the way that Wolves can adapt

without the veteran – and it’s a likely opportunity

for summer signing Santiago Bueno to show what he can do…

Given Craig Dawson’s suspension, Santiago Bueno ought to be given the opportunity to play for Wolves.

Bueno has only made one start for Wolves since joining the team for £8.5 million.

In that Carabao Cup loss to Ipswich Town, 3-2, he started alongside Toti Gomes.

Following the game, O’Neil acknowledged the Uruguayan international struggled.

Bueno enjoyed a good opening 20 minutes or so at Portman Road,

however at that point began to look awkward. It was a really off night general for Wolves,

with even usually dependable Toti struggling as well.

It will have been disappointing for Bueno not to begin since that game.

That is partly why O’Neil needs to consider starting him against Fulham next Monday.

It is never ideal to have players stewing on poor performances,

especially players who are playing as little as Bueno.

He should be given the chance to recover, and the Fulham match

might be a good place for him to do so. He hasn’t played many minutes in

the Premier League against Luton Town thus far.

Wolves switched to a back three recently, and it has improved their appearance.

Rather than switching up the lineup and adding another striker or midfielder,

it makes more sense to add another defender in place of Dawson at this time.

Playing in a back three with Kilman and Toti could make Bueno,

who was deemed “a perfect fit” for Wolves by sporting

director Matt Hobbs upon his signing, appear a little more at ease.

The 24-year-old must eventually be given the chance.
