Bristol City send defensive talent to non-league Yeovil Town while the full-back’s loan is extended
Bristol City has loaned defender Duncan Idehen to National League South Yeovil Town
until January as extra injury cover.
Idehen has gotten together with the Glovers and will be in contention to make his debut on
Saturday as they face Gary Johnson’s Torquay United in the FA Trophy.
Yeovil have partaken in a brilliant start to life in the sixth tier as they sit top of the League,
nine points clear of second-place Aveley and have won their last 11 matches.
Idehen was brought in by manager Mark Cooper after centre-back Jake Wannell sustained a
hamstring injury in their 4-2 win over Farnborough Town.
Idehen, who played for City Under-21s in Monday’s 1-0 loss to Sunderland in the
Premier League Cup, has been named multiple times on the seat for the
Robins this season without making a first-team appearance.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut for the club in April 2022 at Derby County
however, after a difficult loan spell at Carlisle United last season in which he played only five times
under Paul Simpson prior to getting back toward the West Country as his
the deal was terminated ahead of schedule, he remained in the academy set-up.
The left-footed defender, who joined the club on a free transfer in the
wake of leaving Grimsby Town in January 2022, has played in a back three, as one of
two centre-backs and a left-back.
He signed a new contract in May 2022 which places him under an arrangement at
Ashton Entryway until the following summer.
City have likewise broadened the advance of Harry Leeson at Gloucester City until January.
The 19-year-old joined the Tigers in October on an initial one-month loan deal and
has made five appearances, three as a starter, in the Public Association North.
