Bills Playoffs: Could Win Move Coach Mike Tomlin to Quit Steelers?

Bills Playoffs: Could Win Move Coach Mike Tomlin to Quit Steelers?

It appears that the Pittsburgh Steelers want head coach Mike Tomlin to return in 2024,

regardless of what happens this weekend in Buffalo during the playoffs.

It’s never a losing season for him.

Furthermore, it’s rare for the Rooney family to fire a head coach.

However, there are also rumours circulating that Tomlin may decide to leave the Steelers.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is engaging in his increasingly famous “some people say” shtick,

which is something akin to “reporting.”

“I don’t know what Mike Tomlin is gonna do,

but I can tell you there are people out there in the league who say that that’s potentially an option,

” Schefter stated. “That after the season, maybe he could walk away.”

We won’t bother conflating “rumour” with “report” in this space.

However, we will give Schefter some credit since, ahead of Sunday’s game between Pittsburgh and Buffalo,

which is set to begin at 1 p.m. E.T.,

he has actually proposed a few potential destinations for Tomlin.

The Washington Commanders and the Los Angeles Chargers were the two teams Schefter named.

“Some individuals within the league maintain the belief that

Mike Tomlin may ultimately choose to take a leave of absence,” Schefter stated.

“Take a year off, maybe.

He intends to stay. If he so chooses, he will remain, nevertheless.

That’s a whole other topic if he chooses to start walking.

“Maybe there’s a team out there,

he’s from Washington,

his wife loves Los Angeles,

maybe one of them wants to lob a call over to the Steelers to see if they could wind up doing something with him.”There are so many “maybes,” “ifs,” and “some people say”… not a single “source” was cited.
