£1m+ update emerges as Rangers look to bank transfer windfall – report

According to Daily Record, Bayern Munich may decide to halt Malik Tillman’s permanent transfer to PSV,

which would hinder Rangers’ prospects of obtaining a large deal.

According to a story published on January 8 by a Scottish news outlet,

Rangers’ chances of earning a windfall of £1.4 million are now delayed as Bayern Munich wants to stop Tilman from moving permanently to the Dutch powerhouses.

Tillman spent the previous season on loan at Ibrox; however, in order to allow him to join PSV,

the club agreed to give up their option to purchase in exchange for a £1 million payment from Bayern Munich.

In addition, if Tillman decided to extend his loan agreement, Rangers would receive a 10% sell-on fee.

But it appears like that opportunity will come later now.

Even though £1.4 million may not seem like much for Rangers in the grand scope of their hiring this month,

adding that amount to Clement’s transfer fund for the January transfer window could have made all the difference.

Up to two or three more players might follow Fabio Silva to Ibrox during this month’s hectic transfer window for the Gers,

but such moves won’t happen unless the team has a healthy cat.

The Belgian has made no secret of the desire to bolster the roster and bring in quality players after Michael Beale’s summer transfer window left him with an uneven squad,

something the new manager is keen to rectify this month.

In order for that to occur, Clement and transfer director Nils Koppen would need to pool all of their resources to make sure those trades close,

and the £1.4 million from the Tillman windfall would have been extremely helpful.

Bayern Munich now intends to ruin that chance by making an expensive recall choice for the Gers. The Germans will want explanations for their decision to halt Tillman’s permanent transfer, even if he appears to be flourishing at PSV this season.
