Steve Kerr Regrets Losing Jordan Poole After Draymond Green Punched Him: ‘We Could Have Done Better For Sure’

Steve Kerr bemoans the circumstances behind Jordan Poole’s departure from the Golden State Warriors.

Although he acknowledges the team may have performed better,

he believes they did the best they could in handling the issue.

Steve Kerr Valued Jordan Poole’s Work Ethic

It was just made public that Draymond Green punched Poole because of his derogatory remarks.

Kerr said to The Athletic that he only feels regret about the situation now that he has looked back on it.

“I regret that it happened when I think back on it.”

Steve Kerr

The 58-year-old believes the team still performed as well as they could,

though. They kept the majority of the team together while reducing the amount of damage.

He acknowledges that they could have handled the matter better if he thinks back on it.

“In my heart, I know that we responded to the punch the best way we could have known how to respond.”

However, looking back, which is always 20/20, we could have done better, without a doubt.

Steve Kerr

The five-time NBA champion detests that the 24-year-old was forced to

depart in the most inconvenient manner.

He believed that his presence improved the team. As a result,

he believed the squad assisted the point guard in developing.

“I just detest how Jordan’s story ended here, as he is a true success.”

Both he and we had a wonderful marriage. We won a title thanks to him.

We assisted him in becoming a champion and in signing a significant,

career-altering contract. All of it was quite successful. However, I detest how it concluded.

Kerr appreciates Poole’s effort as well.

Additionally, he adjusted to the challenging atmosphere of the league,

particularly in the beginning.

He had to learn the hard way, but he worked hard and deserved everything.

threw him straight into the deep end, and he fought.

Pandemic year was difficult for all of us.

Then he was here every day as soon as the gym reopened.

I always think it’s great when young guys realise they have to do something because

they have learned from their mistakes. He then proceeded to carry it out.

Furthermore, the head coach acknowledges that Poole supported the squad

when the regular players were unable to.

And when he did carry, it made him more of a player for the other teammates.

He simply caught fire throughout several of our games,

carrying us through the most trying times.

I was at a game in Phoenix at the beginning of the season.

At halftime, he probably had 28 or so, and he just lost it.

We had a brand-new toy, as it were.

“Oh, man, we got another guy who can go get it,”

the team’s guys thought to themselves. It altered our perspective.

Though we were unsure, we hoped that we might be a championship contender.

How is the former player for the Warriors doing?

Only slightly better than the Detroit Pistons in 14th place in the Eastern Conference,

the Washington Wizards aren’t doing so well.

Poole is working hard to secure victories in the interim.

He worked extremely hard in their most recent defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

It wasn’t enough, though, to help his team win.

The 24-year-old scored 28 points and dished out two helpers.

He also made ten of his eighteen shots.

The Wizards were defeated by the Kings 131-143 in spite of this.

Many had higher expectations for Poole in the end.

But he fell short of the expectations and disappointed a lot of people.

However, Green is also not having a great season with the Warriors.

In fact, he smashes so many players that they get “empathetic” for him.

Do you believe Poole should have remained with the Warriors?
