In the early going, both teams’ efforts to test the goalkeeper were met with blocked crosses and claimed loose balls.

But as the half-hour mark approached, Daniel Kelly’s certain goal was foiled by an

incredible stop from East Kilbride goalkeeper Samuel Kane. Not long after, Rocco Vata beat his defender

but was unable to put the ball in the net after James McCarthy made an incredibly precise pass to him.

With 35 minutes on the clock, East Kilbride found the opener. Ryan Lockie took the ball out wide before setting up Scott Ferguson, who struck home.

The visitors doubled their advantage two minutes later as Balde found the back of the net.

hit the back of the net with a ball. Vata found Kelly on the edge of the area from the cross,

ball into the area but was quickly closed down before he could attempt to shoot. He was almost played through by Frame shortly after, but the pass was blocked by the opposition.

Disappointment for the Celts at home, who would’ve hoped to take something against the league leaders.

he declared. Well done, East Kilbride. It was an odd game. incredibly tenacious game.

Every year, the teams get younger. Some 16-year-olds who are in their first professional year are thrown

into a match of that caliber against talented players who have competed at a far higher level.

They struggle sometimes, but it’s the struggle that motivates you to look for ways to do better.

We are now experiencing a challenging year. We’ve performed well in some games and terribly in others,

and we’ve lost a lot of games as well as won others. However,

this same team—these same players—will be completely different if you return in a year.

It is necessary for you to experience these trying times and to be tested.

“We’ll continue working, and the boys will be better off for all these experiences.”

Celtic B currently sit a disappointing 10th in the Lowland Football League on 23 points.
