Between them, Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho have scored 11 Championship

goals in the 18 games so far this season.

It’s a decent tally, but the future of Leicester City’s striker role remains a hot topic among supporters.

Will the duo be sharing the minutes up front if City get promoted to the Premier League?

That was one of the questions on our latest Q+A with fans.

Slow beginnings, Enzo Maresca’s team selection, the ideal center-back combination,

whether the game is predictable and slow, the absence of a backup plan,

Harry Souttar, taking chances, and other topics were also covered. Below, you may read our responses.

A: It’s true that City hasn’t been a great starting for a while.

The first fifteen minutes were shaky even when Rodgers had things clicking.

Slow beginnings throughout Puel’s tenure were, I recall, attributed to a lack of focus in

training that persisted into games. While that makes sense, it doesn’t explain the ongoing pattern.

Under Maresca, they haven’t, in my opinion, started off very slowly.

They have given up chances early in a few games, but in terms of goals,

they have scored four and given up two in the first fifteen minutes of play.

In that time frame, only West Brom, Swansea, and Cardiff have a greater goal differential.

The bigger problem, in my opinion, is how badly they begin the second half.

In any case, if I had to speculate as to why it’s become the norm,

I’d say that City has adopted a methodical approach to games under Puel, Rodgers, and Maresca, which centers around possession management.
