In addition to informing his Rangers teammates that Steven Davis was retiring, Philippe Clement also disclosed that he had received an offer to become a coach.

Following the Ibrox legend’s announcement yesterday evening that he will be hanging up his boots at the age of 39, fans and other club icons showered him with accolades to a fantastic career. With nine years of his career devoted to the Gers, Davis amassed over 800 games for both club and country, winning eleven trophies and making two trips to the UEFA Cup Finals.

After taking over as the club’s interim manager following Michael Beale’s dismissal this season, Clement’s speech to his players revealed that the Belgian had asked the midfielder to continue in a coaching role following his decision to call it quits. He is currently awaiting a response.
