Southampton offers €130.10m all for a player who does not worth it: replies rudely

Leo Bittencourt, a midfielder for Werder Bremen, may be difficult to recruit for Southampton

because of his prior remarks suggesting that money might not be enough to entice him.

Deichstube reports that Bittencourt has explicitly said in the past that money is not a driving force in his life.

According to a report from yesterday, Southampton had made a competitive offer for the

Werder Bremen midfield player and was considering making a bid for him.

As he had fallen out of favor this season and was receiving a less

salary than before after agreeing to reduce his earnings when he signed in 2022,

there was speculation that they could entice him to move to the Premier League.

It was suggested Southampton may force anything through with their newfound Premier League funds.

After that, DeichStube reports today that Werder Bremen may not want to let the player leave,

even though he did have a modest drop in play during the previous campaign.

They even contend that he didn’t disappear from the picture as much

as has been said and that he still made 30 appearances at the end of the season.

The notion that the Premier League’s “big money” would tempt him is likewise questionable because,

during his 2022 extension, he explicitly stated that money was not a priority.
