Brendan Rodgers has revealed there will be “change” at Celtic this summer as he looks forward to “a really bright future” at the club

Before defeating their rivals once more in the Scottish Cup final, the Hoops defeated Rangers in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
With that cup double victory, Rodgers made a successful comeback to Glasgow.

This transfer was only made possible after discussions with captain Callum McGregor in Majorca,

who has talked openly about those talks and expressed his enthusiasm over the Northern Irishman’s return.
The pair spoke with Sky Sports’ Luke Shanley in an exclusive interview for “Celtic: Champions Again,

” which airs on Sky Q and On Demand, on their title win, their Old Firm triumphs, the future, and a host of other topics. This is the entire Q&A.

Let’s go back to last summer, talk us through how your return happened

Brendan Rodgers: “My intention was to take a vacation.” Although I had always dreamed of returning to Celtic, I never imagined it would happen so quickly.

“At first, when I got the phone from Celtic CEO Michael [Nicholson], I did think that period should end. However, I received a call from Dermot (Desmond, a member of the Celtic board) outlining the club’s future plans.

“After that, I got to meet Cal [Callum McGregor], and throughout our lengthy conversation, he taught me all there was to know about the team. Since our first day of work together, and with everything he has given me, this is someone I would trust with my life. I respect his viewpoint.

“So, I became pretty aroused while he was speaking to me.

“I knew it would be an uncomfortable and rocky ride for a while, and I was returning a little earlier than I had anticipated. However, you will only be able to alter their opinions if you perform well and maintain it over time.

Callum McGregor: “I was just happy to see him at first. We sat down to talk, and it was obvious right away that he was interested. He was asking about players, the club’s status, and its future plans. “I can already feel my excitement building because I know that it will happen—he will return. Since I knew it would be important to the manager as well, I tried to be as honest as possible about where the club was, where we might improve, and where we could keep pushing to move forward. “He wants to move forward. One thing I found out when he first came here

We were a young, dynamic team that most likely required the next degree of coaching to bring us to where we wanted to go. We understood where we wanted the club to go, and I was thrilled about the possibility of working with the manager again. I believed that the manager would be the ideal person to handle that.”

CMcG: “Ange really changed the club over night when he arrived. The atmosphere was electric, the football was excellent, and there were several fascinating new players.

“I thought that having a true tactical understanding of why we’re doing things on the field was the next level for us, and manager Rodgers is the best at it that I’ve seen.”
