worries over investment and people.

The Black Cats appeared to have gained a boost in this race when he left French side Reims,

allowing them to make an approach for him without incurring a compensation charge.

Norwich City had been connected with a bid for the 31-year-old, but instead appointed an alternate

target. This might have offered the Wearside outfit the opportunity to clinch up a deal.

According to the Northern Echo, a deal to bring Still to the Stadium of Light was almost finalized

last weekend, and he was on the verge of being hired, but the move has now fallen through.

He now appears “increasingly likely” to join Lens, with the young boss possibly staying in France

for the time being after settling into the country’s top league.

It’s no wonder that he’s attracting a lot of attention after doing an excellent job at his former club,

and it may only be a matter of time until he’s back on the job market.
