Newcastle also have Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen on their radar, and Sanchis turned to X,

formerly known as Twitter, to say Eddie Howe’s team sees him as an alternative to Los Ches’ star.

Despite keeping six clean sheets and conceding 64 goals, Jorgensen’s efforts have piqued the

interest of the Premier League, with Chelsea and Wolves both connected.

Newcastle has routinely tracked the Georgia international, and it has been reported that during

their excursions to Spain, they also visited Villarreal to watch the 22-year-old Dane. If

Mamardashvili is not signed, he is one of the Tyneside club’s top choices.

Jorgensen’s contract includes a €40 million release clause that runs until 2027, and the journalist

claims Newcastle believes they can sign him for a’much lesser price’ of €20 million, making him a

cheaper option than the Valencia star.

Sanchis adds that Villarreal’s goal is to collect as much money as possible, but does not define

whether €20 million is sufficient to authorize a move for the stopper.
