Jose Cordoba jets into Glasgow as Rangers transfer edges closer at Ibrox
According to the Daily Record, Jose Cordoba is flying into Glasgow to undergo a medical before
potentially joining Rangers.
According to the newspaper’s print edition [page 44, 28 May], the 22-year-old has previously
visited Ibrox and been shown around during the 4-1 win against Kilmarnock on May 5. Following
his physical, Cordoba will join the Panama national squad for this summer’s Copa America and
World Cup qualifiers.
Will Jose Cordoba be a positive addition for the Rangers?
Rangers will be happy to be on the verge of finalizing a deal so soon after the end of the season.
Cordoba’s national team duties this summer will almost certainly necessitate signing him before he
departs to Central America, which the Gers appear to be doing. The Levski Sofia central defender
has made a great impression in Bulgaria since arriving in the nation – initially with another club,
Etar – in January 2021 as a fresh-faced 19-year-old, still six months shy of turning 20.
Despite his youth, Cordoba has made over 100 senior appearances in Bulgaria, 19 with Etar and 90
with Levski Sofia.
