Newcastle United agree deal for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back target

Tottenham Hotspur are poised to see Premier League rivals Newcastle United try to sign centre-

back target Lloyd Kelly, according to INews.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer, as his current deal

with AFC Bournemouth expires this summer. Kelly’s free move is an intriguing prospect for several

clubs, including Liverpool, who have indicated an interest in his talents.

The North Londoners are planning a big summer overhaul, including a mass departure, and they

are considering bringing in a central defender after the season ends. There is an urgent need for

depth in the position, despite Spurs signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa for a fee reported to be in

excess of £26 million, beating a late hijack attempt by Bayern Munich.

Tottenham may have to go beyond Lloyd Kelly to answer their defensive depth issues, as Newcastle

United may have won the race for his services.

Kelly is said to have already agreed on personal terms to move to St. James Park, and Newcastle’s

pursuit of prospective Spurs targets does not stop there. The Tyneside-based club is also set to

make a free transfer approach for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.
