This summer, Celtic will be searching for fresh players as Brendan Rodgers aims to bolster the Parkhead team.

For the time being, the Scottish Cup final will take precedence before everyone

at the club takes a well-earned break before preseason; in the interim,

some players will also depart to play international duty for their respective countries.
There will be much anticipation for who could join to strengthen Rodgers’ team

at many positions as transfer rumors pick up steam in the upcoming weeks.

John Hartson has already commented on Celtic’s possible action,

saying that the Irishman should give acquiring a striker significant consideration if he is available.

John Hartson keen for Celtic to sign Adam Idah permanently

Since arriving at Celtic on loan from Norwich City on deadline day,

Adam Idah has been a huge success, tallying eight goals and two assists in just eighteen outings [Transfermarkt].
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, the Welshman said that,

if the price is within the Hoops’ means, the Republic of Ireland international is worth adding as a permanent fixture

based on what he has demonstrated when wearing green and white.

“I’ve said previously on this program, I think in the game-time that he’s had,

in terms of looking like a striker that can play for Celtic week in and week out, I don’t think he’s the finished article,

I still think he’s a work in progress,” he remarked in response to a question concerning Idah’s circumstances.

However, considering Celtic’s financial situation and Brendan’s potential financial award,

I believe he’s worth a gamble. If the asking price is £4 million, I firmly believe he should be signed.

He’s strong, rushes in behind, and has scored a few big goals.

His hold-up play against Kilmarnock was excellent, far better than anything I’ve seen in prior games,

therefore at £4 million/£4.5 million, I genuinely believe he’s worth the purchase because he’s impressed thus far.

Celtic and the Adam Idah debate

It seems like there will be ongoing discussion about Idah’s future for the majority of the summer

until Norwich, Celtic, and the player himself come to an agreement.

He has done enough in my opinion to merit a move.

The Canaries are reportedly asking for about £5 million for his services,

which is a reasonable sum of money in the current market.

However, given no decision is expected to be made until the end of the season, Celtic fans will have to wait and see on that front.
