Following Celtic’s stunning 5-0 title-winning triumph over Kilmarnock on Wednesday night, an emotional

Joe Hart gave a speech on the field.

The 37-year-old is set to retire at the end of the current campaign, and praised the support he’s received from the

Paradise faithful since signing for Celtic in the summer of 2021.

The veteran stopper has since won six trophies – five under previous manager Ange Postecoglou and one under Brendan Rodgers – and appeared to get emotional in the immediate aftermath of Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership-clinching encounter.

“This is everything,” he declared. What a difficult season it has been. We became closer, and I made the decision to end the day. I wasn’t sure if anyone would grasp what I was saying at the time, but being here with these men means the world to me.

“We’re here to win trophies, and I’ve loved every minute of this club,” the member said.

I won’t and I can’t sum up the feelings. There are no words to express how much this means to my family and me. It has struck me so deeply that it means everything.

I hope to feel at ease discussing it in the near future, but I don’t want to start crying on the football field.”

The defender praised his teammate Greg Taylor for being both a player and a person as they spoke with Celtic TV while standing side by side.

Taylor remarked, “It’s an honor to call him a friend now.” “He’s been amazing and an ambassador for the club the way he handles himself, but, honestly just as a person I’ve been so honoured to get to know him.”
