Celtic defeated Kilmarnock 5-0 Sunday night at Rugby Park to win the league for the third time in a row.

Adam Idah started the party early doors before Daizen Maeda doubled the Hoops’ lead. James Forrest got the third before the break.

It would have been simple for the Bhoys to ease off in the second half, but they persevered as Matt O’Riley scored a brace.

There were huge celebrations at full time. The players and management team celebrated as the boisterous traveling support opened with a spectacular fireworks show.

In fact, manager Brendan Rodgers spoke with captain Callum McGregor shortly after winning the league.

The captain stated what he was informed live on Sky Sports following the game: “It’s ten months, eleven months of hard work,” stated McGregor.

“This bunch of guys has persevered so well over a challenging season.

The coach, Brendan Rodgers, told me, “To be honest, the way we’re playing right now seems like our season is just getting started.”

It is challenging to disagree with Rodgers’ evaluation. Celtic’s performances were inconsistent early in the season and for a large portion of it, but in recent weeks, they have improved.

The players have earned their title as champions with their hard work over the last ten months.

It is encouraging to see the champs getting comfortable while there is still a cup final to play.
