JUST IN:West Ham United launched a bid to recruit Udinese star after receiving an approach.
According to Mondo Udinese, West Ham United and Brighton will compete to sign Lazar Samardzic in the summer transfer window.
According to the Italian publication (15 May), Udinese is not surprised by the attention considering the quality of his performances this season, and West Ham, as well as three other clubs, have contacted them ahead of the summer.
Serie A clubs Napoli and Juventus have expressed interest, while Premier League clubs West Ham and Brighton have been linked.
All four teams interested in signing Samardzic will need to “put together the right offer” this summer.
Samardzic, 22, is a center midfielder who can also play further forward and as a number 10 when needed.
The Serbian, like James Ward-Prowse, is an asset when it comes to set pieces, whether it’s shooting from distance or crossing.
He enjoys receiving the ball at his feet, driving forward and taking his own shot, or putting the ball on a plate for his teammates. In 26 starts in Serie A for Udinese, he has five goals and two assists.
