Sad news Spurs injured star Ben Davies needs surgery– Doctor explains
Ben Davies may not feature again for Spurs this season, but according to a doctor,
it seems the Welshman is unlikely to require surgery on his calf injury.
Now the longest-serving member of the Tottenham squad,
Davies continues to be an admirable servant to the club, filling in this season across the
defence during the deep injury crisis the Lilywhites have suffered.
However, it’s Davies’ turn to be on the injury list now, having sustained a calf issue during the
North London derby a fortnight ago. There is even a chance that we may never see Davies in a
Tottenham shirt again, with rumours suggesting the 31-year-old has been
deemed ‘surplus to requirements’ and that the club will listen to offers for him this summer (Football Insider).
Good news for Davies this week, regardless of where he plays football
next season: injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar told Tottenham
News that he believes the defender won’t need surgery for his current injury.
“Davies has picked up a calf injury and it does appear to be a serious one which has seen
Ange rule out the remaining games. If he gets through rehab appropriately,
he should be ready for pre-season and not need surgery,” Brar said.
“It’s unlikely right now, but it might be too soon to tell. Maybe the first or second week of
June will give us a better idea of whether or not a procedure is necessary.”

This is excellent news. Any player knows that surgery is a time-consuming and dangerous procedure,
and at this point in his career, Ben Davies cannot afford to miss much time.
Seeing how he heals and how it affects his summer—whether it’s with Spurs or not—will be really interesting.
