Re-Signing report: Kyle Walker-Peters Southampton defender to be resigned next summer.
Tottenham’s move
Kyle Walker-Peters, a defender for Southampton who formerly
attended Spurs’ academy,is apparently a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
Just four years after selling the right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton,
talk SPORT reports that Tottenham Hotspur is exploring a move for him during the
summer transfer window.
Walker-Peters’ decision to begin the season in the
Championship after establishing himself in the
Premier League may have taken many by surprise.
The 27-year-old may be looking for a path back to the top division as he has
maintained his strong play in the second division.
After the English full-back spent the second half of
the 2019–2020 season on loan with the Saints,
Spurs previously permitted him to leave on a permanent contract.
The south coast club has seen success with the England international,
and Spurs may be considering bringing him back to north London.

Walker-Peters to join the Championship team,
Tottenham is now “considering” re-signing him during the summer transfer window.
The Saints will have to decide what to do with the 27-year-old later
this year because his contract expires at the end of the 2024–2025 season.
Walker-Peters, who Southampton manager Russell Martin called a “beautiful footballer,
” may be free to leave St Mary’s Stadium next summer.
If Southampton is unable to sign him to a new contract, they will have to let him go.
Ange Postecoglou may find the Southampton defender to be a valuable option due to his versatility.
He has played on both sides of defense for the Saints, and this season, under Martin,
he has even moved a little bit closer to the front line. This season,
the Australian strategist has struggled at full-back, with Pedro Porro and
Destiny Udogie both needing time on the sidelines.
Spurs may be able to score a deal during the summer transfer window if
Southampton doesn’t get promoted and since his contract is expiring.
The team in north London will be hoping that Walker-Peters,
who was previously shipped to the Saints by Daniel Levy, hasn’t harbored resentment.
