On Sunday, April 7,

the Senegal international scored in his second match following a lengthy injury layoff against Celtic,

assisting the Gers in a 3-3 draw at Ibrox.

Rangers reportedly wants to sign the loanee to a permanent contract with the team this summer.

The Gers are concerned that Sima’s parent team,

Brighton, may outbid them for his services in the off-season.

According to sources,

the Premier League team values him between £10 and $15 million,

which would surpass Rangers’ current club record of £12 million for Tore Andre Flo,

which was acquired in November 2000.

Rangers are planning to increase their transfer budget by approximately £20 million if they are able to secure a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season,

as Football Insider reported last month on March 9.

Rangers eye permanent Sima deal amid £20m boost news

If the Ibrox team wins the Scottish Premiership,

they will advance straight to the league stage of the competition the following season;

if not, they will need to go through the qualifying stages.

With 35 games this season across all competitions,

Sima—who can play on both flanks and lead the line—has 16 goals and 2 assists to his name.

Despite missing two Scottish Premiership games due to a hamstring injury in January,

he has since made two substitute appearances.

The 22-year-old’s Brighton contract is scheduled to end in June 2025.

He has not yet played for the South Coast Club.

Rangers, who have a game left against their rivals,

Celtic, and Rangers are only one point apart in the Scottish premier league.
