Ibrox insider predicts Rangers will make a fresh bid for Abdallah Sima amid an update on the £8 million trade.

Barry Ferguson claims that Rangers might not have the funds to permanently buy Brighton’s Abdallah Sima during the summer transfer season.

During his loan stint at Ibrox this season, the Senegalese forward has had an impressive showing, scoring 11 goals in 22 Scottish Premiership games, including a pivotal goal in the second half of the Gers’ Old Firm draw with Celtic.

Ibrox insider Ferguson believes an £8 million fee may be too much for the Gers and anticipates them to pursue another season-long loan instead, despite Philippe Clement’s desire to keep Sima in Glasgow.

During an interview with The Go Radio Football Show on April 8, 47:15, he stated: “I believe he’s a huge player, an enormous player.” Although he has been out for some time, you were able to witness the impact he had. Defenders detest pace, and he has one thing going for him: he’s just really direct, which is something you need.

“He’s one that I’m sure Rangers will be talking to Brighton about, saying listen, if we can’t pay that, another year’s loan?,” even though I’m hearing that he might be too pricey at £7 million to £8 million.

“However, I think some teams will be considering him because, ever since moving to Scotland, his form has been outstanding.”

During the summer transfer window, will Abdallah Sima be permanently signed by the Rangers?

Rangers would undoubtedly be doing everything in their power to sign Sima this summer if money were no object because the 22-year-old has been nothing short of amazing since he arrived at Ibrox under Michael Beale.

It would be a great tragedy if the Gers were unable to sign the Brighton loanee permanently because so many of the Englishman’s recruits found it difficult to adjust to the Scottish game. However, the player took off immediately away and hasn’t looked back.

However, an £8 million price is a lot for a team located north of the border, and it doesn’t seem likely that the Ibrox board would be ready to pay that much this summer—especially after making such large expenditures for little return last summer.

Perhaps another loan switch is possible, but considering Sima’s stellar campaign in Glasgow, Brighton might see this summer as the ideal chance to permanently cash in on the player. Teams will be lining up to sign the forward, as stated by Ferguson.

Ideally, the two sides may come to an agreement of some kind. The addition of Sima would provide Clement a significant boost ahead of the upcoming campaign, regardless of whether he stays on permanently or goes on another loan.
