Rangers star who “stepped up” against Kilmarnock.
Rangers star Barry Ferguson praised Tom Lawrence after he “stepped up” in the 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock
on February 28. Lawrence and James Tavernier’s goals at Rugby Park gave Phillippe Clement’s team the victory.
As they aim to win the Scottish Premiership this season, they are now two points clear of rivals Celtic at the top
of the table. After seeing Lawrence play well against Kilmarnock, Ferguson commented, “And Tom Lawrence too
stepped up to the plate when he netted the winner to keep my old club at the top of the table,” in the Daily Record on
Friday, March 1.
Rangers star Tom Lawrence celebrated following Kilmarnock’s victor
Rangers’ victory over Kilmarnock was significant, as their ability to rally from a 1-0 deficit demonstrates the
resilience in their team.Due in part to injury issues, Lawrence had a sluggish start to life in Glasgow after joining the
Ibrox club in the summer of 2022. With more than a year remaining on his contract with the Gers, the Wales
international, who has played 23 caps for his nation to date, may still be a vital member of Clement’s team as they
contend for the championship. His skill is beyond dispute, and at thirty, he still has a lot of playing time ahead of
him. He has previously played in England for teams including Derby County, Cardiff City, and Manchester United.
Lawrence needed a confidence boost, and he can now move on and acquire some momentum thanks to his goal
against Kilmarnock. Rangers’ next game is a home match against Motherwell this coming Saturday.
