Graeme Souness’ absurd Celtic and Rangers plan has Ally McCoist appalled, calling opposing teams “bang average.”

Astonished Graeme Souness’ left-field roar over a combined Celtic and Rangers stadium was promptly silenced by Ally McCoist, preparing the Glasgow giants for the English Premier League.
The Ibrox icon, however, feels that neither player is ready for the world’s richest league at this point and that they are both “bang average” at this point. When Souness originally proposed the idea of a 100,000-seat arena in Glasgow, which would have prepared Celtic and Rangers to face the finest teams in the world, supporters of both teams mocked him back in 2022.
Unfazed by earlier doubt, the 72-year-old raised the concept once more in a preview for a planned interview with radio colleague Simon Jordan. However, McCoist was
“I think I am being fair when I say that both teams are now mediocre. I have seen some good ones and some middling ones. We were part of several excellent Rangers and Celtic teams that were on par with the English. We defeated Leeds, and Celtic defeated Blackburn and Liverpool in some fantastic runs.
“It’s because of finance; 99 percent of it is here, even if it’s millions of kilometers away. It would take them some time to get into the leagues, if at all. However, they would be alright if they could manage to survive and take their time ascending there, given the help they have. However, I don’t see it occurring because of too many barriers.”
