Rangers news: During a document update, a deal about Jose Cifuentes was achieved.

Samuel Venancio reports that Cruzeiro and the Rangers are now exchanging paperwork

after a verbal agreement was made on Jose Cifuentes’ departure.

The Ecuadorian international will be leaving Ibrox on a season-long loan, according to the Experience

journalist, who has over 450k Twitter followers and 289k subscribers on the social media platform.

Oscar Cortes made his debut in the team that defeated Livingston 3-0 at Ibrox on Saturday, February 3.

The midfielder was not included in that squad.

It appears that the 24-year-old will be going out the door with Sam Lammers and Adam Devine,

who departed the club in the winter.

“VERBAL AGREEMENT • Cruzeiro has reached an agreement with Rangers

and José Cifuentes – the parties are now beginning to exchange documents so that the

player can come on loan for one season,” said Venancio on Twitter.

Is this Cifuentes’ last game with the Rangers?

It was anticipated that the team had recruited a star from the Americas when Cifuentes,

a relative unknown from LAFC, arrived at Ibrox.

His contract ended at the end of the year, so it first appeared likely that he would join at that point,

but Michael Beale fought to bring him to the team earlier.

Although it helped him get in the door during the summer, he has found it difficult to

adjust to life in Glasgow and now appears to be leaving.

Michael Beale desired a reunion with the midfield player at the Stadium of Light,

and the player was connected to the departure door in January.

That did not materialize, though, and he remained at Ibrox. Nevertheless,

he may still depart because there is still time to leave Brazil.

It’s safe to assume that he won’t be missed all that much at Ibrox because it’s

difficult to identify any significant contributions he’s made since joining.

In other Rangers news, there is now one need that must be met in order for the

team to complete a permanent move in the summer.
