Derek Carr Responds to Michael Thomas’s Remarks

Derek Carr, the quarterback for the Saints, recently gained attention after Michael Thomas

posted some thought-provoking remarks on social media. Among them was the claim that Carr’s

poor throw caused his injury. Thomas left the game against the Vikings with a knee injury the last

time we saw him. Carr responded to the remarks made when he recently appeared on Two G’s in a

Pod with James Jones and Amber Theoharis to discuss the season.

Carr began, stating, “Let me start by saying that I adore Mike T. I genuinely do. I cherish him.”

“I don’t know how many years he’s been hurt and not finished the year when I came in,

but there was a lot of  dissatisfaction there. He had to deal with a lot of irritation,

including answering inquiries and the like, and I could

see how that could get to you. Thus, when it occurs once again, my goodness,

that must be difficult on the heart and mind, as in, “Gosh darn it.”

It was maybe not the best ball, and to be very honest, James (Jones) knows;

I’m not even sure when it happened. James engaged in play with me.

I will not toss a perfect ball one hundred percent of the time. I doubt I threw the best

ball at the end of the day. I have no problem with it at all if that’s how he wants to perceive

it and how he wants to view it. Furthermore, I am aware that Chris Olave, whom they were training

to be the starting player, was already in the building when I arrived, which is why Chris starts

every single exercise and read first. Additionally, as a celebrity

that comprehend the starting point of all those events. However, there were occasions over the season when he

would become irritated or something else, and I would just phone him instead of, say, tweeting about it. And I would

simply say, “Look, dude, this is what it is.” We are adult males. We are able to discuss anything. And each time I went

here to speak with him, there were moments when I walked up to him, questioned him about something, and said

something, and I think that eventually, as his aggravation built up, he stopped loving that. However, I’ve always just

made an effort to speak the truth in love, even though occasionally people find it offensive.”

“Hopefully, Mike will discover what he’s searching for. I genuinely love Mike, so I hope he achieves all of his goals in

life. I didn’t particularly like it at the time. Give me a call, bro. to express all of these thoughts. We seemed to be

engaged in some sort of middle school activity. Just talk to me; Mike was quite helpful in doing so, but at that

particular time, I just tried to avoid using social media. Man, please try to avoid it; there is so much hate and so

much love.”

With Thomas and the Saints taking a new approach this offseason, it has seemed as though the writing has been on

the wall, which is consistent with all that Saints News Network has been informed about the circumstances. Thomas

had previously gained notoriety through his social media posts. Thomas tweeted during the Lions game early in

December, then deleted his account. When queried about it the next day, Dennis Allen responded, “We’ll keep that in

house.” I suppose that last night I was made aware of that.”
