Kubiak is in his first season with San Francisco. His father, Gary Kubiak, was a former NFL coach.

The 36-year-old  served as the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator in 2021 and the Denver Broncos’

passing game coordinator in 2022. Under Kubiak, who also took over play-calling duties in Denver following the

firing of Nathaniel Hackett, Minnesota was ranked 14th in terms of points per game.

Pete Carmichael, who had been the offensive coordinator for the Saints since 2009 and had been with the team since 2006, was let go by New Orleans earlier this week.

According to Nick Underhill of New Orleans, the Saints interviewed a number of candidates for the position. Kubiak

was the unanimous choice for football.

The Saints knew early on that they wanted Klint Kubiak to be their next offensive coordinator. Shortly after

Schefter’s reporting, Underhill tweeted, “He’s been the one all the way through.”

After coaching his final game with the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Kubiak would join the Saints, Schefter continued

in the tweet. “Finalizing a deal cannot happen until after the game.”

Super Bowl Sunday is February 11th.
