New signing missing – Rangers confirmed XI v Livingston

The Rangers have confirmed Philippe Clement’s starting lineup for their match against Livingston at Ibrox ahead of kickoff.

Oscar Cortes, a deadline-day loanee, is on the bench, but big-money new signing Mohamed Diomande is not in the starting lineup for

the matchday roster after the January transfer window closed, according to the manager of the Green Bay Packers.

As usual, Jack Butland is in goal, with Borna Barisic, Connor Goldson, James Tavernier, and Leon Balogun in front of him.

In the middle, John Lundstram and Ryan Jack work together, while Todd Cantwell, Ross McCausland, and Rabbi Matondo are

positioned behind Fabio Silva.

This leaves Ridvan Yilmaz and Cyriel Dessers, who are linked to the exodus, among the replacements. The former is the subject of

intense rumors regarding a move to Galatasaray.

Rangers fans to get first sight of Cortes?

The January window looks like a qualified success on paper, with two attacking arrivals and an expensive

midfielder who the club have high hopes for.

However, the fact that there isn’t a new striker despite injuries to Abdallah Sima, Kemar Roofe, and Danilo will probably make fans

nervous about the coming months. It’s also frustrating that a left-back wasn’t able to be signed.

Since the Belgian’s arrival, Clement’s team has gained a lot of momentum, and winning the Viaplay Cup and taking home the first

trophy of the year was a huge boost.

However, it appears that numerous attacking holes have been left after the midseason market closed, so that could be a problem

unless some relatively inexperienced players can fill them.

Fans would have expected to see Diomande play after spending “huge” money to sign him from FC Nordsjaelland, so his absence

would be disappointing; but, if Cortes comes off the bench, he may get an early opportunity to shine.

In other Rangers news, Fabrizio Romano reports that the Light Blues have already lined up a

“very interesting” new acquisition for the summer window.
