Never one to mince words, Philippe Clement makes no bones about his judgment of the European team he took over at Rangers.

The Gers manager, who plays from the hip, had a difficult choice to make regarding his

Europa League roster after adding three new players.

One of the biggest issues, in practically his first week as manager, was the lack of a left-back to face Sparta Prague but Philippe

Clement has another alternative for Rangers now should we see a repeat of that crisis.

How Philippe Clement can solve Rangers defensive cover issue

Michael Beale left out Ridvan Yilmaz, likely because he would have preferred Adam Devine and Dujon Sterling to cover Borna Barisic.

Instead, once the Croatian was hurt, Clement made a tactical switch that, despite the odds, produced a very respectable outcome.

Johnly Yfeko, an academy talent, wasn’t on the team Clement inherited.

Throughout his tenure with the team, the massive defender has filled the positions of left back and left center back. He is undoubtedly a player of the future.

Two years have passed since his signing on January 31st, which implies that the 20-year-old

can now be included in squads on match days and be eligible for the B list.

Nonetheless, you can’t help but feel bad for Oscar Cortes and Leon Balogun, who are both sure

to be in the majority of European matchday teams.

It seems like Philippe Clement is a management who is unwilling to repeat past errors.
