Diomande and Cortes debut rated chances in Predicted Rangers XI vs Livingston and team news

Rangers will look to add on the misery for Livingston at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon in order to maintain their lead in the Scottish Premiership table.

Philippe Clement has only dropped points in two of his 14 Scottish Premiership games at Ibrox, and he will look to continue his success in the league as Rangers continue to put pressure on Celtic for the crown. They are presently only five points behind the Hoops with a game in hand, and with a favorable run of fixtures in the coming weeks that includes four home games in five, they will be in a good position.

There is no better venue to score points than at home against Livingston. David Martindale’s side have mustered only two  two wins from their 23 games in the top-flight this season, and unless something changes drastically, it will be a spell in the second-tier for the Lions next season. But there is always the chance for an upset in Scotland – and Football Scotland takes a look at the predicted Rangers side that will aim to stop a banana skin in Govan.

Jack Butland

Jack Butland

Butland has been immaculate for Rangers since signing in the summer, and his continued superb performances have elevated him to practically one of the first names on the team sheet.

James Tavernier

The skipper is without doubt the most consistent performer at Ibrox and he should be dangerous on Saturday afternoon if Rangers are to pen Livi in.

Connor Goldson

Goldson has struggled with suspension and injury a little bit this season, but whenever he’s available he has to play.

John Souttar

Souttar has done a fine job at establishing himself as the best partner for Goldson in recent weeks and that should be set to continue.

Ridvan Yilmaz

Ridvan Yilmaz

Yilmaz had his fair share of doubters over the first season-and-a-half at the club but he was outstanding at Easter Road. He’ll get the chance to continue his purple patch.

John Lundstram

John Lundstram

Lundstram was equally as impressive against Hibs and calls have led him to be named Rangers’ best player since Clement took over. He’s been a man reborn under the Belgian.

Nicolas Raskin

There won’t be a debut start for Mohamed Diomande – he’s not played since November, and he will likely be eased into proceedings in the blue half of Glasgow.

Ross McCausland

McCausland found himself in decent areas throughout the first half and really is showing flavours of a player that can make a huge impact for Rangers - if he can continue his current trajectory. He’s direct, skilful and has an eye for goal.

The youngster has earmarked himself as Rangers’ best right-winger ever since he came into the fold in late October – and with Oscar Cortes coming into the squad, it’s his shirt to lose.

Todd Cantwell

Cantwell always comes up with moments of magic and against a Livingston side that will employ a low-block to frustrate the Gers, his creativity will be pivotal.

Rabbi Matondo

Abdallah Sima’s injury means Matondo has had an extended run in the team and that may well be the case for the rest of the season with the Senegalese international out for a lengthy period.

Cyriel Dessers

Dessers, like Yilmaz, took pelters at the start of the season for not being up to the required standard at Ibrox. But he’s bagged seven goal involvements in his last seven and will be encouraged to keep that up.
