Galatasaray are still looking for a left-back,

with head coach Okan Buruk evidently unwilling to abandon the club’s pursuit of Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz.

There are still six days till the Turkish transfer window closes.

While Galatasaray may have left it too late to bring Ridvan Yilmaz back to the Bosphorus,

the Super Lig challengers will not give up so easily.

According to rumors, Galatasaray plans to continue discussions with Rangers.

There is, however, a £2 million difference in valuations between the two clubs,

with Philippe Clement’s Glasgow giants wanting double the amount Buruk’s are willing to pay for the former Besiktas forward.

Furthermore, with the Scottish window closing two days ago,

it seems unlikely that Rangers will rush to negotiate terms with Galatasaray,

considering that Clement will be unable to bring in a replacement ahead of a frenetic final few months of a season that could yet result in a Premiership triumph.

Ridvan Yilmaz is still a Ranger player.

“Berkan Kutlu, Baris Alper Yilmaz, and Kaan Ayhan have performed admirably at left back.

I am pleased with all three of them,” Burak tells Sporx,

compelled to push his squad to its limits due to Galatasaray’s defensive shortcomings.

“The Galatasaray management does everything we want. Our president is constantly with us.

If a transfer is needed within the following few days, we can use it in the Turkish League.

“If there is an opportunity for a transfer, we will evaluate it.”

Gers demand £4 million, while Galatasaray offer £2 million.

Rangers were connected with a number of left-backs throughout January, but the closest they came to signing one was when they completed a deal with Fluminense to bring 20-year-old Jefte Vital to Ibrox.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks broke down after APOEL Nicosia,

who recruited Jefte on a season-long loan last summer, declined to shorten his term in Cyprus,

prompting the Brazilian to issue an apology to his temporary employers after the window closed.

“To all APOEL fans, my teammates, the coach, the president, and the entire club staff,

I apologize for missing training. At the time of the tragedy,

I did not feel in a position to assist the club and  I chose to leave,” Jefte explains.

“The institution deserves my full commitment, dedication, and focus,

as it has in recent months and will continue to do so in the future.

“We remain stronger than ever and are now 100 per cent focused on the main objective of winning the championship.”
