Why Brendan Rodgers won’t walk away from Celtic

Brendan Rodgers will not quit his position as manager of Celtic;

when he rejoined the team in June of last year,

he was aware of the score.

On social media,

there has been a lot of conjecture over Brendan Rodgers’ future.

Perhaps “speculation” is not the right term;

perhaps a major overreaction by our support’s most pessimistic members is more appropriate.

Yes,

we are all aware of these pessimistic pundits.

Please understand that I am not a “happy clapper,

” as you have undoubtedly already surmised!

When it comes to criticizing the club when it is rightful and well-deserved,

there is absolutely nothing wrong with raising our voices.

Particularly now that our men are once more dozing off behind the wheel.

However,

a boundary needs to be established,

because perpetually projecting a picture of catastrophe is counterproductive.

We remain the best team in the league and have a good chance of winning the championship again,

despite our dissatisfaction with the current management of the team.

Of all,

Brendan Rodgers is the guy largely to blame for our title charge this year. He’s a class act,

as evidenced by a challenging campaign in which he had to guide us through a bit of a rocky period while simultaneously coaching his players to adjust to his football style.

So it’s quite the take to claim that Brendan is considering leaving.

He said he saw this as a long-term ambition for himself and was aware of the working conditions when he returned to the club in the summer.

He saw this as a long-term project,

where he would establish himself as a premier coach and football manager. He knew the score and still does.

If he hadn’t committed to a three-year contract (with the possibility of further years to come),

he wouldn’t have done so.

Saying otherwise is ludicrous,

and for the time being we can live without the conjecture.

We may all speak when the window shuts, but after that,

we need to focus on our visits to Pittodrie and Easter Road,

where we need to make sure we get all six points.
