Premier League defender completes Belgium transfer, linked to a £2.5 million move to Rangers
Rangers-related Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo has completed
a transfer to Belgian side Standard Liege.
The Gers were highly connected with a summer move for the centre-back
as Michael Beale wanted to improve his Rangers team.
According to reports at the time, Rangers was prepared to spend
up to £2.5 million to acquire Jonathan Panzo,
with teams from all around England and Europe vying for his talents.
As events would have it, Panzo moved to Cardiff City on loan, but he has now finalized a contract
to transfer to Belgium following a dismal six months in Wales.
After moving to Standard Liege, Jonathan Panzo After being recalled from a loan with Cardiff,
Jonathan Panzo completes a loan swap to Standard Liege until the end of the season.
In the first half of the season, the defender only made five appearances for the Championship club;
hopefully, he will make more on the continent. Nottingham Forest has high expectations
for the 23-year-old defender who will have to make a greater impact in Belgium.
With Jonathan Panzo joining the team, Standard hopes to improve their current ranking of 10th
in the Belgian Pro League.
