Manager confirms Rangers are on verge of signing his player in last-gasp loan-to-buy deal

Franck Haise, the manager of Lens, has stated that the team is getting closer to moving Oscar Cortes to Rangers on loan with a buyout

option. Journalist Laurent Mazure, who provided the manager’s update on X on Thursday, 1 February, claims as much.

With just four games played for the French team, the 20-year-old attacker from Lens has one goal and one assist.

The young player is about to arrive at Ibrox, and once the club formally confirms the transfer, Gers fans will be in for a lot of excitement.

Despite Cortes’ lack of senior football experience, Philippe Clement can easily see the forward’s potential. And Colombia obviously

thinks highly of him since last year the attacker was given his debut by the national squad.

The Gers have already strengthened their attack this window in the form of loanee Fabio Silva, but now Cortes will come in, also on a

temporarily deal but with the option to then make it permanent.

That should surely be enough for the Scottish side to mount serious challenges in the Scottish Premiership, Europa League and

Scottish Cup, with the club having already lifted the League Cup trophy this season.
