Rangers, the Scottish giants, have officially confirmed the signing of RC Lens’ promising winger Oscar Cortes.

The 20-year-old joins the club on loan until the end of the season,

with the option to sign permanently during the summer transfer window.

The Colombian international is Philippe Clement’s third signing as Rangers manager in what has been a successful first transfer window,

following the arrivals of Fabio Silva and Mohamed Dimonade earlier this month.

Cortes rose through the ranks of local club Millonarios, becoming a first-team regular just days after turning 18 years old.

His performance piqued the interest of last season’s French runners-up, RC Lens,

who paid £4 million to get him. He has had few opportunity to flourish in French football,

scoring just one goal in four league games.

However, the teenager is certain that he will make an immediate impression at Ibrox and says he is very thrilled to meet his new teammates.

The teenager also praised the club’s history and culture,

saying it played a significant role in his selection.

Cortes told the Rangers website, “I am really honored and privileged to be signing with Rangers.

“I’ve heard a lot about the Rangers’ history and tradition,

and I’ve had excellent chats with the manager, who believes I can help the team achieve its goals this season.

I am very pleased to join my teammates and hopefully excite the fans with my style of play.

Clement praised the Colombian upon his arrival, claiming he will be a valuable contribution to the team.

The Belgian continued, “I am overjoyed to welcome Oscar to our team.

“Our discussions have been very constructive,

and I feel he will be a valuable addition to the group as we compete on three fronts for the rest of the season.

Oscar is very enthusiastic about our team’s goals and ambitions,

and his skill set will bring valuable competition to our forward line.”
