Following the club’s official announcement of the 20-year-old Colombian’s arrival on February 1, the Rangers Review journalist said

via Twitter that no more business would be coming in before the deadline.

Although Jefte was supposed to arrive at Ibrox this month, his move has been postponed until the end of the campaign;

nonetheless, Jose Cifuentes is poised to go once more.

“Oscar Cortes is the third and final arrival of the window,” Jack wrote. The Rangers are happy with their business this month and have finished for the evening.

“Rangers turned down a Forest bid for Jack Butland and rebuffed interest in Ridvan Yilmaz. Devine departs on loan, while Cifuentes’ departure is still likely.

Qualified success

If they start out strong, adding two attackers and a high-profile midfield player during the January transfer window isn’t a bad deal,

especially considering how competitive the market has been all season.

Clubs seem even less inclined to be expansive in the midseason than usual due to fears of FFP ramifications, and it is inherently more

difficult to finalize incoming transactions when there aren’t many leaving ones.

Yilmaz’s decision to stay puts the failure of the Jefte deal to one side because the Turk is enjoying some

of his best play as a Rangers player.

It is impossible to ignore, though, that Philippe Clement will have to carry on without Cyriel Dessers for the foreseeable future as his only center striker option.

After a rough start to life in Glasgow, the Nigerian is also beginning to establish himself at Ibrox, but he is still erratic, and with Danilo, Kemar Roofe, and Abdallah Sima all out with injuries, it would now be a serious concern if he were to also be sidelined.

In other Rangers news, information has surfaced regarding Cortes’

potential permanent signing with the Light Blues.
