The match between Celtic FC Women and Hibernian, which was originally scheduled to go on Sunday,

February 11 at the Excelsior Stadium, will now take place in the nation’s capital.

This season, Edinburgh has already played Hibs at Meadowbank Stadium,

hence they will be the home team in this second match. Due to Airdrie’s men’s Scottish Cup

match against Hearts at the Excelsior on the same day, Celtic requested that the teams be switched.

Following the break, Celtic will host Hibernian twice to make up for this reversal.

In the SWPL1, Hibs has been playing well, winning four of their previous five games with

the exception of a loss to Glasgow City. They average three goals per game and have a 56%

league victory record when playing at home. They’ll be trying to be more clinical this time

around against the Celts after losing 4-2 when we met in September, considering that they

take 16 shots on average every game.Celtic has won 78% of its away games this season,

with a tie against Hearts and a loss to Glasgow City.

In 67% of our road games, we have maintained a clean sheet and have

a significantly greater xG (expected goals) for than against.

Celtic scored first the last time we played, grabbing a three-nil lead just after the half hour.

Hibs responded with two goals just before the half through Eilidh Adams and Jorian Baucom,

but Amy Gallacher’s late strike gave the Hoops the victory.

Hopefully, we can show off our strength at Meadowbank even more than we did the last

time and unquestionably win three points.

BBC Alba will live stream the Hibs vs. Celtic FC Women match.

Coincidentally, Celtic FC Women will be playing the Rangers away the following weekend.

The match will now take place at Ibrox, and Celtic supporters may get tickets

for £7 for adults and £3 for concessions. In three separate competitions this season—the

Glasgow Cup, the SWPL1 and the Sky Sports League Cup—these teams have faced off three times,

all at Airdrie.Celtic has led the game each time it has grabbed the lead before losing.

Given the condition of the field, it’s hardly surprising that none of these previous games

were transferred to Celtic Park.

However, there’s now an opportunity for the Celtic supporters to travel to Ibrox for a women’s Glasgow Derby.

Perhaps the Green Brigade would be interested in putting their Green Wall on display once more at their location?

The Rangers women’s match vs Celtic FC Women at Ibrox on Sunday, February 18, at 3:10 p.m., has tickets available HERE.

Prior to those two games, Celtic FC Women have two away games: this Sunday, February 4,

in the Scottish Cup, against Hamilton Accies Women, and next Wednesday, February 7, in the SWPL1.

New Celtic manager Elena Sadiku will be looking to win all four of these matches to keep our

dreams alive in both the SWPL1 and Women’s Scottish Cup.
