Oscar Cortes has not yet been officially announced by Rangers, despite all media outlets stating that a contract has been reached.

The number that the newest addition to the Gers team, Philippe Clement, will be wearing is known, though.

Oscar Cortes’ squad number, which is a well-known one, has already been assigned by the Rangers to him,

according to Julian Capero of the Colombian website Futbol Red.

Oscar Cortes will receive a familiar number from Rangers.

The Steven Davis number ten shirt is still available, but it appears that a longtime fan favorite will be

seeing a new face in that shirt.

Capero claims that when Rangers unveil Oscar Cortes at Ibrox as Clement’s third signing of the window,

it will be Andy Halliday’s former number 16.

“Today, Oscar Cortés, a new player for the Rangers, signed a contract. Verified the pre-order.

It’s going to be official in the coming hours. I’m going to wear a size 16 shirt.

Will he be the last, is the key question.

Since Fabrizio Romano revealed that APOEL would not shorten Jefte’s loan from Fluminense,

it becomes more likely that he will arrive in the summer.

The only thing they have left is hope that they can pay the negotiated option to buy clause in the summer

and then sell it for a profit to Rangers.

There’s no rush to bring in someone else or settle for anything less than what we consider the Turkey international to be capable of

playing left-back, as Ridvan Yilmaz currently appears to be at ease in that role.

We could use a little more depth there, though, as it is at the opposite end of the park.

Kemar Roofe, Abdallah Sima, or Danilo haven’t left Philippe Clement without options.

Even if Oscar Cortes, the new number 16 for the Rangers, starts playing well, there will always be the question of whether we have

enough goals in the forward line due to Fabio Silva’s adaptability.

Time is running out.

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland’s January departure from Nottingham Forest is finally over,

as the Premier League team turns their attention to Matz Sels.

This week, the City Ground club’s approach for the Rangers top player was rejected.

Jack Butland is seen as an essential part of the team’s title push.

The 30-year-old is without a doubt the Scottish player of the season; his play since relocating to Glasgow has even put Jack Butland

back in the conversation for England.

It is understandable why Rangers directed Nottingham Forest to depart when that inquiry came in, and now Ross Wilson and Nuno

Espírito Santo are looking towards France.

Nottingham Forest considers the Jack Butland substitute

Nottingham Forest is reportedly considering a deal for Matz Sels, who might potentially fetch

€7 million (£6 million), according to Fabrizio Romano.

Currently playing in Ligue 1, Strasbourg, the 31-year-old Belgian goalkeeper is the team’s captain and first choice stopper.

This comes after Giovanni Reyna, a playmaker for Borussia Dortmund who is known to Rangers supporters because of his connections

to former player and manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, was added to Nottingham Forest.

Sam Johnstone, the goalkeeper for Crystal Palace, has also been linked to Nottingham Forest; therefore, the deal practically puts an

end to rumors about Jack Butland.

Rangers’ goalie is a valuable asset right now.

Rangers are making it obvious that they believe the goalkeeper is currently essential as they

reject the idea of bringing in Jack Butland.

Since joining the team, the stopper has been a dependable player who nearly single-handedly

maintained the team in the running for the championship in the early going of the season.

Something tells us the stopper is in no danger of losing his love for the game after spending time on Premier League benches.
