Rangers stand to make ‘Massive’ profit as billionaire-owned club attempt to sign player – report

Glasgow Rangers are expected to make a “massive” profit from the sale of goalkeeper Jack Butland to Nottingham Forest, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper said in its print version on January 31, page 50, that Gers do not wish to sell the Englishman before the deadline.

The 30-year-old arrived to Ibrox on a free transfer in the summer after his deal at Crystal Palace ran out.

However, with less than 48 hours till the transfer window ends, Philippe Clement will not want to do that.

January is spent strengthening the team and filling weaknesses in order to make them competitive enough to challenge Celtic for the league title.

They are already catching up to their rivals in terms of points, and the fans do not want to see Celtic win the title again this season.

Hopefully, Forest will not return with a large bid, but it appears that they have left it too late for Gers to consider entering the negotiations.

They are owned by billionaire Evangelos Marinakis, therefore money will not be a concern.
